After Jesus fed the 5,000 people, He sent the crowd home, sent the disciples off in a boat, and went alone to a mountainside to pray. When nighttime came, He saw that the boat, filled with His disciples, was out on a windy lake and was a good distance from land. So He went to the boat by walking on water!
